Ethics
In line with the requirements of the International Coach Federation (ICF), we:
- act professionally as coaches
- conduct relationships with clients on a professional basis
- respect and protect clients' confidentiality and privacy, and
- avoid, or disclose and appropriately deal with, actual or potential conflicts of interest.
We are subject to the ICF's accountability and redress processes in the event of ethical issues. For details see the ICF's website here.
Our coaching agreement describes the possible sharing of information with each client's organisational sponsor. Any obligation to share information with the client's company or organisation will be clarified and agreed by all parties before coaching begins. Typically, information shared with each client's organisation, manager or sponsor is limited to:
- advice that coaching sessions are not being arranged and held as expected, but only after the coach and client discuss and seek to resolve it, and
- brief reports on coaching objectives and outcomes (but not reports on the client) -- any such reports will be negotiated with the client before going to their organisation.
